Motorcycle squads, bag pipes and honor guards kicked off the 24th Annual Ocean County Law Enforcement Memorial Day Service at the Ocean County Police Academy in Ocean County Park today.
Law enforcement officers, including chiefs of police from across Ocean County with Ocean County Sheriff Michael G. Mastronardy and Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph Coronato joined with local and Ocean County officials, family members, colleagues and friends to honor the 17 peace officers from the County who made the ultimate sacrifice.
The names of the three fallen Lakewood officers – Officers Richter, Preslar and Matlosz, are among 17 officers from around the County.
Performing at the event also were the Ocean County Vocational Technical School Performing Arts Academy Vocal Ensemble and the Point Pleasant High School Panther Concert Band.
