Misameach’s 2019 Summer Experience Program took a group of young men ages 18+ who are battling serious illnesses and physical disabilities on a fun, on an adventurous getaway to help infuse some hope, joy, and cherished memories to help carry them through their challenging times.
This week in Washington D.C., the group received an exclusive White House tour of the West Wing and Oval Office, which included the Rose Garden, Roosevelt Room, Cabinet Room and more.
President Donald Trump left gifts of pens and pins with the Presidential Seal for the patients and volunteers, and the Secret Service expressed their surprise at the extended length of time permitted to the Misameach group in the Oval Office.
This amazing experience comes just on the heels of a VIP tour of the Pentagon and other exclusive events.
Misameach’s incredible Summer Experience kicked off last week with a beautiful and inspiring weekend Shabbaton, hosted by the Frenkel family in Toms River and joined by superstar singers Sruly Williger, Baruch Levine and Uri Davidi. A special BBQ Kumzitz was hosted at the home of Yaakov Shwekey and his wife Jennine of the Special Children’s Center before the group continued on their travels.
“Misameach would like to express admiration and gratitude to head counselor Volvie Weiss for doing an incredible job giving these boys a fantastic adventure they will remember forever!” Misameach said.
I just keep on saying Wow, Wow, Nad Wow some more every time I see these heart warming Misameach stories. They opened that family room for the families. They did that cruise, which looked insane. And now this trip. It’s just Wow, Wow and wow some more.
