“… on New Hampshire Avenue near Chestnut Street…” Knowing the area well, I would say the accident happened on CHESTNUT, NEAR New Hampshire.
How is the bus driver.is the driver OK who was driving the bus
The bus drivers in this town drive so erratic and unsafe I’m surprised there aren’t more accidents involving buses. These companies are hiring anyone off of the street with a CDL (if they even have one). Something seriously needs to be done about the way these bus drives drive, doing 40+ mph in a residential neighborhood is ridiculous!!!
Prayers for the familys
To pay!
It’s amazing to see how your blaming the innocent!!! when some one pulls out of a parking lot & forgot to look to the left, you blame the bus driver who’s did nothing wrong!!???
I personally know the bus driver involved in this accident , he’s been driving in Lakewood for over 20 years, any passenger that ever boarded his bus had only good thing to say about him!!!!
I myself drive a bus, I driver about 130 miles a day in Lakewood, there’s a lot more that should be done to make the roads safe than blaming bus drivers!!!
How tragic. Prayers for all involved.
Tragic. Prayers for all concerned. May the injured fully recover. May the decedent Rest in Peace.
Condolences to the family. How sad.
Thanks to all the selfless volunteers that spent hours trying hard to rescue her. You have it your 110 percent. You and your families should be rewarded by God. Prayers to the families.
It was not the bus drivers fault, the bus driver didnt even have a chance to react, the car pulled out of the charlie browns parking lot onto chestnut right in front of the bus. The driver of the bus is ok but very distraught over this. People just stop with assuming if you dont know your facts. Prayers for all involved.
I was born and raised in Lakewood. The changes in this town are unbelievable.
I have been a BUS DRIVER for 25 years. Being a driver now, is very difficult. You have daily challenges and you still try to deliver precious
cargo safely. Everyone is always looking where to put blame when something bad happens.
Accidents in this town happen on daily basis. If everyone in our town would start to obey the signs posted, and not park in places where it makes it difficult to go into all these tight streets it would help. The drivers have no choice but to try to get into these places that they know are dangerous. No one cares until something happens. Everyone is always in a rush. They see a bus and they try to beat it even if it’s unsafe.
My heart goes out to the family for there lost. I pray for the driver, that will never be the same again.
ALL BUS DRIVERS keep up the good work. You all do a great job. Driving in this town is a BIG challenge. No one but us know how hard it is. LKWD PD please step up to plate and help. Lets all work together and help with the transport of our children and making Lakewood a better town to drive in.
Prayers for all involved. How are the children?
Driving in Lakewood is stressful and hazardous. As I live on the border of Lakewood, Jackson and Howell, I am able to avoid doing so for the most part — that means going to the library in Manchester, going to the post office in Jackson, taking the bus to New York from Toms River picking up Route 195 in Jackson to get over to the shore. Still looking for a safe route to Mantoloking
This is so very sad. Please drive carefully. My condolences to the family.
sad for the victim, family and also the bus driver who is reportedly a good person who now has to live with this.
My daughter was involved in this accident as a student on the bus – I am terrified to think what could have happened to my daughter. Thank God she is ok – but now does not want to ride the bus home due to trauma. This is her 2nd accident she has been involved in since the beginning of the school year. Something has to change.
Thank You , ET that was well said. In behalf of all bus drivers. Again prayers for all.
