PHOTOS: Chai Lifeline Families Join Together for a Pre-Purim Party

By T.H. Chai Lifeline families enjoyed yet another pre-purim party in Ateres Reva hall Wednesday night. They were warmly welcomed by staff and volunteers as they walked into the world of Lego Land created and so eloquently designed by the Mrs. Chavi Chase of Pret-a-Partee. The lighting from Bright Events and balloons by Judy Singer added to the party’s atmosphere. The centerpiece of the display was a masterpiece painted by our very own Chai Lifeline girls under the direction of skilled artist, Chayala Kipper. Also featured in the display were photos of Purim themed creations of Lego by the children and families of Chai Lifeline.

A full scale carnival was enjoyed by children (and adults) of all ages with carnival booths set up along the perimeter of the room with a wide variety of games and booths. “Can you tell what I am,” exclaimed one eight-year-old girl after getting her face painted,” I became Hello Kitty tonight!”

The children used the tickets from the carnival to ‘purchase’ prizes that included stuffed animals, toy cars and headphones, donated by Jeremy Sultan of Vivitar. The long lines at the selfie terminal were testament to its success as children walked away with customized, Lego themed Chai Lifeline pictures from the party.

Families were served a full fleishig dinner buffet as they watched an exciting show by the master juggler, Nosson Meir Cohen. Many parents echo similar sentiments of one mother, “My kids had a blast. I didn’t see them the whole night, they were having so much fun! I was able to sit and relax with friends, something I rarely get to do.”

The highlight of the party culminated in an original choir featuring Chai Lifeline children and their siblings led by Camp Simcha’s, Ami Eller. Following the performance, each child left the stage feeling like a star!

Yitz Henkin and Simcha Leiner graced the stage with their presence, revving up the ruach and festivities while Chai Lifeline volunteers engaged the children with spirited dancing and singing. A big thank you to Dovid Elefant and Buki Schwartz for the musical arrangements. A special thank you to Meir Rosenbaum on the flute, Shia Goldring on the guitar and Shmily Spira on the keyboard.

A tremendous thank you to all the Chai Lifeline volunteers. We would never be able to do it without you!
