PHOTOS: A desperate burglar got away with a few extra dollars, but less blood, after cutting a hole and climbing into a local business overnight.
The burglar cut a hole through the siding of the Classy Cleaners on 5th Street sometime overnight, but cut himself quite severely in the process and left a trail of blood behind, police say.
Once inside, the burglar grabbed whatever cash he could find, which reportedly amounted to under $50.
An Ocean County Sherriff’s K9 unit attempted to trace the burglar, but with negative results.
Lakewood’s Detective Bureau and CIU are investigating.
The cleaners is still open for business.

Good move on the part of the cleaners. No business should leave too much money in the store overnight.
Thank you thatnk you thank you for not writing the race of the burgar
RACE DOES NOT MATTER
It would be easier for him to earn an honest living, not so bloody.
Has anyone noticed that the amount of burglaries and robberies in Lakewood has increased since Tent City closed.
#3 whats the connection?!
#4 People are no longer getting free food and shelter. Now they nust fend for themselves.
#5 actually they are getting free shelter and Obama EBT cards just like the rest of the leeches of society…
#5 Not all of them recevieved free shelter and none of them received EBT cards. The Township give many of them 3500 each (which was quickly spent} in lieu of finding them shelter and the 20 or so that remained were temporarily put up in a motel in town.
in response to comment # 7 are you saying that everyone that gets ebt cards are leeches where is this comming from? There are probably hundreds of local families that use the card who without that help would have a VERY hard time feeding their families. I wouldnt be surprised if you use that card.
actually, people that use that card are hard working people who actually work for a living, not rob and steal…they may just have a lot of kids, so a regular paying job isnt enough…
