Following Wednesday’s meeting with officials on the county level, local Askanim from the Lakewood area sat down Thursday afternoon with New Jersey state Senator Bob Singer (R-Lakewood) and New Jersey Rep. Chris Smith (R-Manchester) for a pre-election conversation.
Senator Singer started off by detailing some of the work he has been doing in Trenton on behalf of his constituents and what he is planning on accomplishing in the near future.
Rabbi Shmuel Blech and Rabbi Moshe Zev Weisberg both thanked Singer for all that he has done over the years and wished him continued luck and success as the Senator for the 30th Legislative District.
Following Singer, Rep. Smith then explained in detail many of the causes and issues he has been assisting with on a federal level before hearing from those present on some other pressing issues involving the Klal.
Smith, who recently moved to Manchester after his hometown of Hamilton was redrawn out of his district, is seeking re-election for a 22nd consecutive term.
Election day is Tuesday, November 8 but early voting is already underway at the Lakewood Municipal Building.
Polls will be open from 10am to 8pm today through Saturday and 10am to 6pm on Sunday, which will be the final day of early voting.
Looks like the same food from last meeting. Hope it was fresh!
I was also invited to this meeting, but was too busy to attend. It is my understanding, they managed on their own.
