Last week, Jersey Shore Hatzalah Founder and Hatzolah CJ member Avi Aboud reached out to TLS looking to get a Shas for a 10-year-old boy who loves Learning, but was hospitalized.
TLS reached out to Judaica Square owner Sruli Blau to inquire about the best Shas for the boy, telling him about the situation.
Sruli stated he would let us know, and minutes later called back that he reached out to Getzi Hershkowitz at Oiz Vehadar, who insisted on sponsoring the Shas for the boy.
But that wasn’t it.
Avi Aboud heard the boy’s music idol is Yaakov Shwekey, so Avi asked Shwekey if he would come over and meet with the boy, which he immediately agreed to do.
This evening, the boy was brought over to Avi’s home, where he had a double surprise waiting for him – a brand new Shas, and his favorite singer Yaakov Shwekey. Not only that, but the Shas was inscribed and signed by Shwekey.
To top it off, after presenting him with the Shas, Yaakov Shwekey invited the boy to tour his studio, and posed for a picture with him.
“I’m blown away,” said Avi Aboud. “Mi K’amcha Yisroel. There are no words.”
