PHOTOS: The Bais Yaakov School in Toronto was on lockdown this morning after a suicidal man with a gun was seen next door, a TLS reporter nearby at the time told us.
The incident occurred around 10 AM when an apparent mentally unstable man barricaded himself inside a home next door to the school. For fear of the man coming out and shooting, the high school went on lockdown.
The girls at the school were reportedly told to remain on the floor inside, and the windows were darkened.
Police with their guns drawn were seen around the school.
“It was frightening, we had no idea what was going on,” someone at the school told TLS.
The lockdown was lifted a short time later when police captured the man. No shots were fired.
