PHOTO: This is what’s left of a child’s helmet after being struck by a vehicle

helmetMisaskim this morning released the attached photo – it’s what’s left of the helmet a young boy who was struck by a vehicle in Boro Park today.

(Read more about the incident on YWN.)

“Without this helmet, he wouldn’t have made it to the operating room,” says Askan Rabbi Yanky Meyer, Misaskim’s founder.

The child remains in critical condition.

Wow! Refuah Sh’laima! It is mind boggling to me how many children I see riding bikes without helmets. Parents need to make sure that their children do not go on a bike or scooter without having a helmet properly strapped on.

I completely agree with Moish and would like to add that the new additions of hoverboards and the like are not exempt from helmet wearing.
