JCP&L: “Power Was Restored to Just One Side of The Street Because We We Didn’t Know It Was a Two-Way Street”
When asked why power was restored to only one side of a Lakewood Township street Sunday, after both sides of the street were left without power due to a widespread power outage, a JCP&L spokesman told reporters: “Sorry, but we mistakingly assumed that the street was a one way street. Had we known it was a two-way street, we definitely would have restored power to both sides of the street.”
The spokesman offered Lakewood residents the following advice:
“In the future, when you contact us to report a power outage on a two-way street, be sure to tell us that the street is a two-way street, otherwise we’ll assume it’s a one-way street, and then half the street will be left without restored power.”
Bottom line,” he added, “when it comes to reporting power outages, it’s important to be street smart.”
