Nothing but crass ta’avah!
Look what we have come to. U think people were waiting from before yt was over
Mi keamcha yisroel, waiting online on a busy night just to give a fellow yid who had no parnassa for a week some chizuk
LChaim to you!
Was it free?
This sight disgusts me.
We will eat matzoh tonight and matzoh brei/eggs/yogurt whatever for breakfast tomorrow. Do you think we will survive intact?
Avi, amazing spin in the situation! Never would have thought if that! Kol hakavod!
Shame on you for accusing others of crass taivoh. Maybe it’s a way of rewarding all the bnei mishpacha who will be working so hard to turn things over late into the night. I’m so glad that your kids are on the level to be excited with the Simcha shel mitzvah that they need no additional motivation to help their mother. But think long and hard before you crassly besmirch other members of Klal yisroel….
Ari, no incentive for anyone will get me to stand in line like that for food. I love pizza but I value my dignity just a bit more.
Can’t we hold ourselves in until tomorrow? I’m having with my family the chometz we sold and put away
Let’s not make a mitzvah out of our taivos!
Lets stop judging.. Live and let live..
A man standing on line for pizza next to my husband said he is doing this is for his sholom bayis…
Miriam
And the man next to your husband said the same thing….
in the sefira, such ahavas yisroel is just what we need ! ask the scoop why its news in the first place. bh the raffles have stopped for the first pie. mi kamcha yisroel!
Well, they have more patience than I do – waiting on a long line. And after a busy night.
It is an Inyan to eat chometz as soon as peasach is over. Plus an Inyan to have something hot after Shabbos.
This is beautiful. Btw, stores on south side of lake are much quieter. Upper Crust in Todd Plaza is moving very fast.
These people are waiting for Tanir Rishon
My kids helped get ready for Yom Tov and tonight helped put everything away I’m proud to wait on line with them
All the guys who sit behind a keyboard mocking those in line are just jelous and would love to be getting pizza
Can the scoop stop putting out pictures like this. It’s pushut too much for the oilam. Everyone seems to lose their brains and mouth and it brings out the worst. Let every yochid do what’s right for him and his family and let all the bored people come help out in everyone else’s home.
Upvote! The only comment that makes the most sense.
The GR”A ZT”L was makpid to make havdalla after Pesach on beer (chometz) to show that he only ate matza for mitzva. Our local oilam doesn’t drink much beer, but was very very clearly only refraining from pizza etc for the sake of the mitzva. Look at our Oisai retzon koinam beSIMCHA!!!
As long as what youre doing is leshaim shamayim it is a beautiful thing.
The GR”A also could’nt sleep the whole Motzei Pesach because he was so excited to be able to wear Teffilin again the next morning.I am not judging anyone who wants pizza after pesach but let’s not compare it to the minhag of the GR”A.
No need to be such a glutton!
That’s my personal opinion. But I’m not bashing them, like many of the previous commenters. Because it’s none of my business.
To all of you waiting in long lines to buy pizza tonight, if it’s right or wrong I’ll leave that up to your own judgement. However with my experience as working in a pizza store many years ago I can tell you one thing, Pizza is not good for the first hour and a half. Simply, the ovens are not hot enough and the pizza is a bit too doughy. If you wait 2 or 3 hours the lines get shorter and the pizza taste 10 times better
When I passed this shop it occurred to me what the Sanieguryan Shel Yisroel, The Heilige Berditchiver, The Kedushas Levi ZY”A, might have made the best of this sight,. Only a nation of Klall Yisroel held themselves back, and did not eat Chomeitz for over 8 days! Mi Ki’amcha Yisroel!
The Mashgiach Rav Nosson Wachtfogel ZT”L, was against Pizza shops in Lakewood, to the extent that he bought out the first one.
I didn’t wait on a line out the door, I went to the Bakery.
Many of us myself included do not have (we hope we cleaned it all) or sell chometz ….therefore we can’t do as you do
As Rav Shlomo Freifeld once said, “why do we look at another Jew and think what’s wrong with this person instead of looking at another Jew and thinking what’s right with this person?”
Try it- it can be life changing…
I went to Kosher West, got the most delicious fresh bagels and no lines!! Thank you Kosher West for always having exactly what we need and for constantly updating your store to add more great things that the customers want!! ??
Ari, good point. When somebody passes a pizza shop with a line out the door, why does that even provoke such intense thoughts and feelings? If you don’t want pizza just keep on going and if you want, than just get on back of the line! What’s with all these silly שיטות!
tTo #11 -Miriam –
I overheard a woman on line say” for the sake of sholom Bayis I bought pizza for my husband”!!
