PHOTO: Reb Yisroel Meir Shapiro, our very own weekly Magid Shiur, donated last night Kosher Lamps for all the bedrooms at the Lakewood Bikur Cholim home.
“He enlightens thousands with his weekly Shiur at the Bikur Cholim building, and now he’ll be enlightening the Shabbos for the many staying at the Bikur Cholim building each week,” says a Bikur Cholim coordinator.
The Bikur Cholim building, located on Prospect Street near the Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus, is home each week to many local and out-of-town guests requiring the close proximity to the hospital.
On hand to accept the generous donation, was R’ Yehuda Kaszirer, the director of Bikur Cholim.

R’ Yisroel Meir – all I can say is “yirbu k’moischo b’yisroel”. May the RSO repay you immeasureably for all that you do for the klal.
Wow! Truly a very generous gift by a very special individual in our community! I listen to his speeches every week & they are so well delivered! I’m sure there are others out there who appreciate what R’ Shapiro does for us each week.
Thank you for doing what you do!!
May God continue to shower you with blessing.
Rabbi shapiro and his family are the most giving people out there. They help everyone anytime. They are a real example to follow.
R YM, believe me we all know that you are the LAST person to want anyone to know about this. It is a mitzvah though to spread the wonderful deeds of Chesed. Hopefully others follow! The Shiur has become World Class. This is some icing on the cake! Keep it up..
How do you make a lamp kosher? What’s not kosher about a lamp?
Rabbi Shapiro is such a tzadik and his Shiur is amazing! May he go mechayil el chayil!
#5 – you put on a fillter. Much like your computer.

Thank you Bikur Choilim for allowing us to help out in this great mitzvah
From all of us @thewestviewshop
YM I have watched you since we were in Yeshiva almost 40 years ago. Never a bad word about anyone, the best midos around and always give and give and give more. In such a quiet way. It is so gratifying to see how you keep shteiging. In Torah,Avoda and gemilus chasadim. I am not zoche to live in Lakewood Ir Hatora, but we watch your Shiurim each week all the way over the bridge in Brooklyn too! They are so to the point, warm and so well delivered. Keep making us proud!
R’ Yisroel Meir is a great guy. The Kosher Lamps will light up the rooms of the BC house – but his Acheinu albums, violin solos, guitar solos, intricate 4-part harmonies, Gevalt !! That’ll light up ur soul. Ki Lo Yitosh !!
To Lakewood Taxpayer: it’s not quite a “kosher” lamp as with food. Rather, since Jewish people are prohibited from turning on or off lights on Shabbos (Sabbath), this invention is a lamp which can be left on continuously but has a thick porcelain (?) inner “shield” which can be rotated to completely or partially block the light. Although the use of pre-programmed timers is permitted for lights, this is not so practical for bedside lamps or rooms which may need light or dark at unpredictable times.
Tizku limitzvos. Its wonderful to see Rabbi Yeruchem Shapiros son going in his fathers way and continuing on in his fathers footsteps. Everyone who ever attended Bais Yackov of Boro Park knows the thousands of Chasadim his father did for anyone that needed it. Bais Yackov would not be where they are now if not for Rabbi Yeruchem Shapiro. So beautiful to see Rabbi YM , following in his footsteps.
