ry menachem avelThe Rosh Yeshivah Harav Yeruchem Olshin Shlita traveled this week to Eretz Yisroel to be Menachem Avel and be Mechazek his brother-in-law’s family, the family of Harav Yaakov Eliezer Schwartzman, who lost his daughter-in-law this week.

She was the daughter of Harav Chaim Shlomo Lebowitz, and leaves behind a large family.

The Rosh Yeshivah is expected to return Motzei Shabbos.

  1. Do the Roshei Yeshiva have to be photographed wherever they go? I understand when I see pictures of famous people in official roles, although even that is sometimes overdone, but can’t people refrain from photographing their personal moves? People are beginning to behave like the paparazzi out in the celebrity world just because everyone has the ability to photograph everything. At the risk of sounding like an anachronism, can anyone respect people’s privacy? Or has social media taken that concept away?

  2. Agreed, though I find it even more pathetic how people submit photographs of Shiva – at such close range, too. Will aveilim now have to worry about how they look and act and what emotions are on their face…. while they’re sitting shiva!!!! because the pictures are being broadcast across the world? Are we normal?
