The accident occurred approximately 6:30pm at the intersection of Chestnut Street and New Hampshire Avenue.
Hatzolah is transporting two patients to the hospital, and EMS is transporting at least one other patient.

Hope passengers are ok. This is by far the most dangerous turn in Lakewood and there is no reason there has not been a traffic light put up there, synched with the RT 70 light. Andrews Corner is the safest option. I’m fully aware of the sign posted that states that thru traffic is not allowed. But I prioritize safety above the law and I recommend you all do the same until a light is put in place.
I agree with the previous comment, I totaled my car at this intersection as well.

Why isn’t there a traffic light at that intersection?!!! I pass it everyday and it’s always chaotic there!

It is not fair to the dedicated EMS volunteers who need to respond just because there is no light. And over building.
why does everything boil down to building??? this is a crazy intersection regardless. stop complaining abt random issues bothering you when some of your brothers are hurt badly in the hospital
Quit it. I guess you don’t get it. It is all numbers. The more houses the more cars. The more cars the more accidents. The more accidents the more serious accidents the more serious accidents the more injuries etc.

I have to make a turn here every day at least once. when I am first I wont go until I am comfortable turning and there are always people behind me beeping! they can not see the cars coming and they think the coast is clear. please don’t pressure people by beeping in to going in to an intersection that they are not comf.with.\!!
Traffic light is seriously needed at this intersection or don’t allow left hand turns unto New Hampshire from Chestnut.
