PHOTO: Ocean County remembers 9/11

imageOcean County Freeholder Virginia E. Haines was joined by Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph Coronato, in placing a wreath at the Ocean County Sept. 11 Memorial during Ocean County’s Day of Remembrance Ceremony today.

Freeholder Haines was also joined by Sheriff Michael G. Mastronardy, the Rev. James Occhipinti, the Ocean County Vocational Technical School Performing Arts Choir, and Ocean County Government staff members, emergency responders, and members of the public in remembering the lives lost and tragic events of September 11, 2001.

Nineteen residents from Ocean County lost their lives that day with thousands of others as terrorists struck the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and Flight 93.

All those lost on Sept. 11 and the military personnel who have made the ultimate sacrifice during the ongoing War on Terror were remembered by Ocean County during the annual Day of Remembrance Ceremony held Sept. 9 at the Ocean County Administration Complex in Toms River.
