PHOTO: New Tent City on the Lake?

tent on lakePHOTOS: Police were called today after a pitched tent was found on the boardwalk of Lake Carasaljo. When police arrived, the tent was vacant – but contained a boombox.

“We won’t allow another tent city to open up,” a police officer said, though it’s unclear if this tent was pitched by a homeless person.

The illegal tent, which was see yesterday as well, was disassembled and taken into police headquarters, together with the boombox.

  1. There are lots of small Tent Cities in Lakewood. I stay in the main one because I need a generator.

The police are very incompetent and inefficient. Four police cars vs an empty tent – bet that was a long, twilight struggle… Your tax dollars at work.

Perhaps we’ll start a Tent City on (moderated). Lakewood Tent Party 2014!

Unconstitutional anti-homeless laws will not stand! We can build faster than you can destroy!

  2. I think to camp legally you have to do so in designated areas and not for an extended stay, and pay a fee for permission to do so, like for a vacation.

  3. Alex, you are a real piece of work….let’s see how incompetent the police are next time they have to report to your illegal encampment for the next drug overdose or fire. Very ungrateful attitude for someone who doesn’t pay taxes yet still reaps township services…
