The Manchester Township Police Department has officially welcomed two new officers to its ranks. Patrolmen Tyler O’Brien and Colin Geraghty took their oaths of office during the August 11, 2025, Township Council meeting.
Ptl. O’Brien, 29, began his law enforcement career in 2018 with the Seaside Park Police Department. After returning to the academy as a Class II Special Law Enforcement Officer (SLEO) candidate, he graduated in 2019 with the High Marksmanship Award. He later served with the Deal Police Department and the Pemberton Borough Police Department, where he earned recognition for his dependability and strong work ethic.
Ptl. Geraghty, 27, started his career in 2019 as a Class I officer with the Beach Haven Police Department, where he also volunteered with the Police Athletic League. In 2022, he attended the Ocean County Police Academy, graduating as a Class II officer and earning a Lifesaving Award. Later that year, he joined the Hightstown Police Department, where he served nearly three years as a full-time officer.
“As they take the next steps in their law enforcement careers with the Manchester Township Police Department, Ptl. O’Brien and Ptl. Geraghty bring with them not just experience, but a strong sense of purpose, service, and integrity,” said Chief Antonio Ellis. “We are proud to welcome these proven officers to the Manchester Police family and look forward to the many ways they will contribute to our community.”
Both officers will now begin the department’s Field Training and Evaluation Program, where they will be mentored by highly trained officers before taking on full patrol duties.

Congratulations on both officers. Welcome to Manchester P.D. Good luck on your future endeavers!
