The Director of the LSTA, Rabbi Avraham Krawiec, as well as Agudah’s NJ Director Rabbi Avi Schnall, met last night with residents of Toms River and Jackson to discuss busing fixes for next year.
“I was glad to begin the conversation with some Jackson and Toms River parents to see what more we can do for those families,” Rabbi Avraham Krawiec told TLS. “As those communities have grown rapidly, it demands a new look to see what more can be done for those parents. The Jackson and Toms River parents through their respective boards of educations are willing to pay their share.”
Krawiec says these effort coincide with the efforts involving the Lakewood 2017-2018 school year.
“While we look at what we can do for them, we are working on the bigger picture of adding new vendors to enable service to Lakewood, Toms River and Jackson for future years.”
He added, “In the next few days we will be sending the schools instructions on how to proceed for 2017/18 busing as we want to get a jump start on this. We also continue our efforts in getting more routes going for this year, and by no means are we moving on from this year.”
Rabbi Schnall commended Krawiec for his efforts.
“The LSTA continues to be a work in progress, and as many Routes in Lakewood continue to be picked up, we are very happy that Rabbi Krawiec is including the residents of Jackson and Toms River in the process,” Rabbi Schnall said.
first get the bussing worked out for the Lakewood parents!!! its rediculous that its end of Jan and we still dont have bussing for way home!!!
Please, give my kids their buses right here in Lakewood before you worry about the Toms River and Jackson families! They knew when they moved they’d have busing issues…
What about the people who don’t have busing for the second year??? Can we stop running this town like a shtetl?
Please give us busing for Lakewood residents who live over 4 miles from school for THIS year!! It’s the end of January….
And why did I drive by the public school at 3:45 and see dozens of empty buses parked in their lot???? My daughter ends school at 3:50 and we could really use those buses to get her home without me driving 4 miles to pick her up!!
