I thought you can’t leave your porch. He’s not in line with the guidelines from the rabbonim.
Who said he davned from where he built it and took the picture?! always judge your friend favorably! thanks
same thoughts
The guidelines said that if very much needed the chazzan or bal koreh only can move off the porch to where he can be heard.
I hope it has a shiur of 4×4 amos, otherwise he cannot stand on it to daven. See Shulchan Aruch siman 90.
GR8 POINT! however, might not be a problem bec its fenced in by those wooden slats
its an interesting halachah that i was unaware of till someone showed it to me
1 person (chazzan) is allowed to move to an area where all can see him.
aS LONG AS IT STAYS ON YOUR PORCH!
@Thinking Jew This has a din porch.
@thinking Jew, I believe the guidelines said if the people need to hear him better, the shalach Tzibur can stand in a central spot
Was there a minyan today in 45° and rain? Just want to know if people are worrying about v’nishmartem meod l’nafshoseichem as much as theyre worrying about davening with a minyan??? Part of this wanting to daven with a minyan is following your yetzer hora. Just remember r chaim who is far greater than anyone i know is davening by himself. Yes he is bli ayin hora elderly but everyone needs to follow rules, and psak halacha If we dont c”v there will be more sick people and lo aleinu deaths.
stop being busy with excuses, and blaming it on our torah! you arent ready for a little mesirus nefesh of davening in an uncomfortable BUT SAFE manner, so dont. but dont try to claim you’re a tzadik for that
Not impressed. Now is not the time for AMAZING ideas to use “heterim”. And yes, these minyanim are “heterim” not “lechatchila”. Something tells me that many of the leading Rabbanim who are davening in their homes not using this “heter” have no less of a “chashivus” for minyan than any of those “heiliga yidden:(no sarcasm there) who are davening with a minyan.
excuse me??? u have some guts to go out there and say that after rabonim VERY clearly gave guidelines and permission! who says these minyanim are heterim? it is quite lechatchila to daven with a minyan! as long as everyone is doing it safely and smartly (and yes building this thing is safe and smart- doesnt harm no-one)
Please dont forget, today and tomorrow Rosh Chodesh davening!
I remembered after I had taken off my tallis and teffilin
I made a different mistake. Forgot to take off my my talis & tefillin for mussaf!
@just me – I am also davening with a porch minyan as I have the yetzer horah so to speak to do so. However, all the rabonim that gave heteronormative are all maskim that these minyanim are bidyeved to begin with. The guidelines are the only way these minyanim are mutar at all, but definitely NOT lichatchilah.
