Approximately 10 years ago, a Lakewood boy named Shmaryahu Yosef was becoming Bar Mitzvah and was looking for a Pasuk for his name to say in Shmona Esrei.
Being that Shmaryahu is an uncommon name, and the Sar Hatorah had the same name, the boy decided to send a letter to Rav Chaim asking the Gadol for a Pasuk.
The boy received the following letter back from the Gadol, shared by the family exclusively with TLS.

This is amazng, in more ways than one.
– He answered.
– In his own hand
– A Chizzuk Possuk
Just beautiful.
I always wondered which pasuk he used. I use שתולים בבית ד בחצרות אלקינו יפריחו
Wondering if the boy mentioned he has two names or just asked for a Possuk for Shmaryahu.
I know someone with a double name who asked Reb Chaim Zatsa”l and was told to only use one Possuk with the first letter of the first name and the last letter of the second name.
i use 1 posuk for each name. the posuk i chose for shmaryahu is the same that he chose.
