PHOTO: Lakewood Allstate Agent Ben Goldfischer Recognized for Outstanding Volunteerism

ben gAllstate New Jersey Insurance Company agency owner Ben Goldfischer received the Helping Hands in the Community award for his commitment to helping others. With this award came five $1,000 grants from The Allstate Foundation for the following organizations where Goldfischer volunteers: Bikur Cholim of Lakewood; Chaverim Inc. of the Jersey Shore; Hatzalah Emergency Medical Services of the Jersey Shore; Misaskim Corp; and Tomchei Shabbos D Lakewood.

Allstate New Jersey agents and employees have a proud history of putting their good hands to work in supporting New Jersey communities, promoting volunteerism and providing financial resources to enable local organizations to help others.

The Helping Hands in the Community award celebrates the spirit of service. “Commitment to our communities is a part of what we do every day – protecting people and making their lives more secure,” said John Kane, President of Allstate New Jersey Insurance Company. “With support from The Allstate Foundation, Ben and all five organizations are making their communities stronger.”

Bikur Cholim of Lakewood was founded in 1991 and created to serve the members of Lakewood facing medical challenges. They now assist most of the NJ area’s hospitals by providing free transportation, kosher meals and more.

Chaverim Inc. of The Jersey Shore is dedicated to serving the community offering free roadside assistance as well as other non-medical emergency help in the home or while on the road.

Established in 2002, Hatzalah EMS of the Jersey Shore covers an area encompassing seven municipalities. Today, their fleet consists of four state of the art ambulances along with over 75 trained and certified EMTs.

Misaskim Corp’s mission is to provide support and assistance to the community through services that include safeguarding the dignity of the deceased as well as helping the bereaved during any tragedies and challenges of their crisis or loss.

Tomchei Shabbos D Lakewood is committed to never turning away families in need. They act as a lifeline by helping families in need of assistance to keep their home emotionally and psychologically intact. They provide support to those facing overwhelming crises.

The Allstate Foundation awards more than $1 million every year to nonprofit organizations across the country in honor of dedicated Allstate agency owners who give back. To be eligible for nomination, Allstate agency owners must volunteer, mentor or lead a nonprofit of their choice.
