PHOTO: Icy Roads Result in Hundreds of Accidents, Injuries

gsp iceThe icy roads around the state today caused hundreds of spinouts and accidents, according to the New Jersey State Police and local officials.

“428 reported accidents and 186 aids in NJSP patrolled areas,” the NJSP reported.

Several people were reportedly killed in multi-vehicle pileups on NJ and PA state roadways.

Closures and speed restrictions remain in effect.

In Lakewood, multiple people were severely injured after slipping and falling down stairs due to the ice.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Advisory, which is in effect until 7:45 PM tonight.
