PHOTO: Hundreds without Power after Crash takes down Utility Pole

spruce x riverHundreds of JCP&L customers are without power this afternoon after a crash took down a pole near River Avenue.

The crash occurred shortly after 4 PM at the intersection of River Avenue (Route 9) and Spruce Street, and left a pole and wires strewn across the road.

According to JCP&L, approximately 500 customers are without power. Power is expected to be restored around 6:30 PM, according to the electric company.

Spruce Street East of Route 9 has been shut to traffic in both directions.

  1. Yesterday a traffic light was knocked down on Cedarbridge, today an electric pole was knocked down on River Avenue. It seems that the oilam is a little too giddy…..
