PHOTO: Gas in Lakewood yesterday dropped below 3.00 per gallon for the first time in years. Though most gas stations in the area are now showing 3.01 per gallon, the Citgo station at the corner of Central and Route 9 is advertising 2.99 per gallon.
The most expensive gas in Lakewood, is currently at Exxon on Madison and E. Kennedy, which is charging 3.19 per gallon, according to Gas Buddy. [TLS-28/118]
Exxon is only that expensive because people buy there. Stop giving into the craze of “exxon gas” or go to the Exxon at New Hampshire and Rt 70 it is ussually 20 cents cheaper there!
If everyone will stop buying gas at exxon they will be forced to lower their prices and then we can have a cheap brand name gas station in a cantral location!
Everyone goes to Exxon for the coffee/food. Once they are there they fill up on gas as a matter of convenience.
The Exxon is nuts. I dont mnow why ppl even go there. Swifty gas is 7 blocks away. Gas is, usually, 20 cents cheaper per gallon, Is owned by a fununzere, & 4 Corners has a store there. I almost never goto Exxon.
Actually the swifty gas station is not owned by “fun unzere”. It’s leased from one. So is the delta by the cheder.
gas should be $1.99 a gal because of the price of a barrel is under $100 now. However the American people are are so use to paying these high prices they think $2.99 is a great deal!
BP on route 9 near lake is also $299.99
Is this actually under $3 dollars a gallon . If its 2.99 9/10 and you ask for one gallon of gas, how much money do you have to give? I assume you would give $3.00 and not get any change which would mean its not under $3.00 a gallon
…and then when everyone starts buying again the price will go back up…

When Obama became president, gas was at $1.69. Now we’re celebrating $2.99. How the times have changed.

Gas was cheap when Obama came into office because the economy had just tanked. 6 months previous to him taking office, it was over $4.00 a gallon .
According to that logic we’re coming out of a rip-roaring booming economy and heading into a recession! :-/

Exxon is expensive because they do NOT do enough GAS business. If they would do enough business they would lower the price.
Joe, the economy under Obama is just as bad, yet gas prices have doubled.
Also, remember when Bush tried to pass a law to allow drilling for oil in the US and the Dems blocked him? Remember? But let’s bury our heads in the sand and think that somehow Obama saved us by lowering gas from $3.19 to $2.99.
