PHOTO: First-ever Orthodox Jewish member sworn in to Jackson Board of Education [UPDATED]

The first-ever Orthodox Jewish Jackson resident was sworn in as a member of the Jackson Board of Education this evening.

Tzvi Herman was sworn in together with Scott Sargent and Tara Rivera.

The Board is currently voting on positions of President and Vice President.

UPDATE: Due to 3 to 3 tie, there was no consensus for board president and vice president, and for the first time in recent history, the vote has been carried to the second meeting.
