A fire broke out at the Mesivta of Lakewood last night, Sergeant Young confirms to TLS.
The fire broke out about 7:32 PM at the West Kennedy Boulevard Yeshivah, and heavy smoke billowed from the basement windows.
A fire official tells TLS the fire appeared to have originated in the basement electrical room.
Firefighters battled the fire and brought it under control quickly.
Some Bachurim reportedly lost their belongings, including Tefillin.
The electric to the building was shut and the Yeshivah remained closed since.
The Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire. Nobody was injured in the fire.
