PHOTO: Ella G. Clarke School Celebrates Arbor Day; Presented With Proclamation

PHOTO: Students at the Ella G. Clarke school on Friday celebrated Arbor Day by planting 25 new trees around the school’s property.

Joined by school staff and representatives of School Resource officers and other LPD officials, the students heard from Special Education staff member Ms. Griffin, who educated the children about the importance of Arbor Day.

Following the tree planting, Mayor Akerman, Committeeman Meir Lichtenstien and Board of Education member Joel Schwartz presented the school with a proclamation, on behalf of the Shade Tree Commission.
