PHOTO: Early for Purim, or just wrong?

This ‘citation’ was seen on a vehicle this morning at the intersection of 10th Street and Clifton Avenue.

The obviously-fake ticket was apparently placed by a resident trying to make a point.

  1. Not early for Prim and not wrong. This should be a daily occurrence all over town. Maybe then people will start driving normally. But it should be on the sticker that is really hard to remove. That will cause people to think before parking illegally

  2. That seems like a funny joke but being a Communications officer in Lakewood I can see this will bring a lot of calls into our call center for concern we are using incorrect forms for parking issues. While I find it amusing many of the residents here will not, so please refrain from putting those on vehicles as our officers are already using a warning form for parking. I can just see the calls come rolling in “I got a warning on my car and it called me an I***T for the way I parked.” my response would be Sir/Ma’am I assure you that the Lakewood Police Department is not putting those tags on your vehicle. Ours are clearly marked with OUR agency name on them. Thank you in advance – 664

  3. I don’t consider this a joke. People are super selfish and only think their time is important. The police should be out there ticketing people like this car. And next time call the police.

  4. Purim? Not. Just something that any sane person would do any time of the year if the infractions as stated on the notice were perpetrated.

    Freilechen Tuesday!

  5. Great idea!! Let everyone in Lakewood get involved in pointing these parking issues out to each other. Maybe some people may change their habits!

  6. Love it.

There should hundreds of these, all over the place. The way people park in this city is absolutely awful, and incredibly dangerous. Parking too close to a corner, especially when the intersection is not 4-way is an accident begging to happen.

Except for “parking in a spot forever,” which is someone’s right, and “parking on the lawn,” because if it’s their lawn, who cares, every single thing on that list is a (this kind of) “ticket-able” offense.

  7. Driver’s have to realize their actions affect others! Many times someone may park a certain way and not see the difficulty they are causing others. This is a big “bein odom l’chavero” issue that many people just don’t seem to realize how insensitive they are and just because their car is anonymous doesn’t make it right. You still caused pain and this person is expressing it, maybe it is not so bad for people to see what their actions caused.

  8. The writer of this ticket has my vote to become Mayor of Lakewood!!!! I absolutely love it!!! Actually I just wonder if the writer is married because I’d love to rest him a shidduch! Great personality 🙂

  9. to Shalom. yes, he is married to me and he has an amazing personality. i agree 🙂 and likes to help people. so this is his way of helping the town

  10. @Mechel I think Lakewood Comm Officer was referring to people that received the notification calling and asking why the police gave them an illegitimate ticket and not that anyone would be calling to report the person that put it on their car or to report a crime.
