A cigarette was reported the cause of a fire at an apartment building in Lakewood this afternoon, officials said.
Shortly after 1 PM, the Lakewood Fire Department responded to the New Hampshire Avenue building complex for the report of a structure fire.
Upon arrival, firefighters found extensive damage to a porch, after a cigarette was discarded and set fire to the siding.
An on-site manager tells TLS two maintenance worked grabbed buckets of waters and extinguished the fire before it could spread further.
Nobody was injured.
Yet another reason to quit.
They also set lungs on fire, Heaven Forbid!
Cigarettes are unhealthy for a number of reasons. First all, the large amount of smoke is too much for the lungs. Although there are celia (tiny hairs which ‘sweep’ smoke that gets into the throat and lungs), they have their limits; and cigarette smoke greatly exceeds that. B) There are thousands of chemicals added into cigarettes – to make them more addictive, a number of which cause cancer. Included in this is the chemical fertilizers sprayed on the field – which emit radiation and are tantamount to getting many x-rays. They could remove it, but it adds to the pleasure. Experts say these chemicals account for 60% of the issue today. There are ‘natural’ cigarettes, but they cost more and don’t ‘taste’ as good – according to smokers, Yet they are definitely a better option while one is working on quitting. The issue is a great one – they’re extremely unhealthy, and one should definitely stop – and people should certainly not help others get them in any way, shape or form.
Note that e-cigs are not much better, if anything (as nicotine is poison, and, even without, all the humidity is not good for he lungs either).
One should find pleasant things to do, and think about that and all the good around him, and then one will feel happier.
