  1. You’re right, Hashem should help that there should be no need for Hatzolah for the local residents. Looks like we are still in Golus, and we need the Hatzalah heroes to be nearby when needed!

    • It was a simple and basic point. There are residential and commercial areas, seemingly it would make more sense to have such a building which essentially operates 24/7 in a commercial area. I know that the Flatbush Hatzala has a policy about not turning on their sirens within a certain proximity to its garage, which is also in a residential area. There must be more to the story.

  2. You’re 100% right that unfortunately the ambulance is needed in residential neighborhood. However, it could be one black over, for example, in Evergreen parking lot ….
(Which is still in a residential area…)

  3. I wish the Hatzala building was near my house. When ever I will hear the siren I will say a Kapital Tehillim and also I will thank Hashem that I don’t need Hatzala.

  4. I have a question I hope someone here could answer, I’ve heard the reason why orthodox wo t hold doors open for women or people of a different religion is because they don’t want to accidentally touch a woman, how can they service on the EMS what about touching women?

    • Great question,
First of all the premise is wrong, as an orthodox man I see no reason why you can’t hold a door open for anyone irrespective of gender.
As far as EMS is concerned, The Torah puts human life at in the highest regard and commands us to even violate the sabbath to save a life regardless of gender or religion. So we will treat anyone and anytime.
Which is why we have a very strong sense of volunteerism in the community. and you will be pleasantly surprised to know that many of the first aid squads in Ocean and Monmouth counties are staffed primarily by the Orthodox community.
