PHOTO: Beware of Possible Insect-Infested Lettuce being Sold in area Stores

imageThe attached is a photo of Dole lettuce being sold in Costco, which does not bear the Star-K Hechsher, as do similar products.

As earlier reported from the Star-K, many of the bagged lettuces are not currently passing the Mashgiach inspections due to the current insect infestation brought about by the changing seasons.

The problematic items are both romaine and iceburg lettuces, the Star-K says.

Consumers are urged to check that each bag contains a Hechsher.
