PHOTO: A 9/11 memorial flag which was started following the attacks and completed on the 6th month anniversary of the attacks, has been brought to Joint Base MDL yesterday, before it makes its way to the 9/11 museum.
The flag, created by a Pennsylvania gentleman and presented yesterday to MDL, contains over 2,000 small American flags, as well as the flags from over 80 countries donated by communities in several Pennsylvania Counties. It was placed on the deck of the USS enterprise and also at the Medical Examiners office where body parts from 9/11 victims were identified.
A select group of Police, Fire and EMS personnel were on hand on the Base for the unveiling of the flag, which will be on display during the upcoming Open House and Air Show at MDL.
The flag will eventually make its way to the 9/11 memorial museum in New York.
