Petirah of Ruchama Chaya Leeba Fruchthandler A”H

We regret to inform you of the Petirah of Ruchama Chaya Leeba Fruchthandler A”H, who was Niftar this morning following a lengthy illness.

Ruchama Chaya Leeba A”H, the daughter of R’ Chaim Ozer and Leahle, suffered from a terrible Machla for over 10 years. She was just 14 years old.

Friends and neighbors describe the child as a pure Neshama, and despite all her challenges and pain always spoke about the will of Hashem and acceptance of the challenges she was faced with.

A camper at Camp Simcha, Ruchama Chaya Leeba A”H would always talk about and look forward to her days in camp where she would laugh and play, and feel loved and accepted. This past summer, while connected to machines, a helicopter was arranged to fly her into camp for approximately 48 hours – making it the highlight of her summer.

The Levaya is scheduled to take place at 12:15 PM today at the Chanichei Shul on Hollywood Avenue, and the Kevurah in Union Field in Queens, NY.

  1. Just heartbroken. Chamz was larger than life.. at just 6 years old she would give chizuk to the adults around her. Her maturity and emunah was something beyond description. Anyone that met her could never forget her

  2. BDE. Ruchama Chaya Liba, she was a source of inspiration for all who knew her well, and for all those who even knew her a little or only just heard about her. I never met her and yet, the stories i have heard made an immense roshem on me that i will always remember. She will be very very missed.

  3. Nebech, this is so sad. This was mamesh a tzadeikess. She was, basically, in constant pain for the last 10 yrs or so. My daughter was zoche to be one of her steady visitors and my son and I had the zechus, just once, to play some music for her a few months ago. The pain she was in is unfathomable. May H-shem give Chizzuk to this amazing family.

  4. BD’E Ruchama Leeba a”h was a pure neshoma, who in her short lifetime reached remarkable levels of emunah which was instilled to her by her choshiva parents. They nurtured her neshama and guf beyond limits. My daughter was a classmate of Ruchama Leeba, we all admired her mothers involvement in every aspect, she brought her to and from school, on Sunday to friends for school projects, after school parties, arranged for her friends to visit her in CHOP. The chinuch her classmates received from this unfortunate situation has elevated them and will live with them for life. I would also like to thank the menaheles and teachers of Bais Rivka Rochel for doing so much in caring for Ruchama Leeba a”h and for teaching our girls hands on the valuable mitzvos of, bikur cholim ,tefillah, bein adom la’chavero and so much more. Ruchama Leeba a’h has made a true kiddush Hashemin her short lifetime, her emunah, simchas hachaim will live on in the hearts and minds of her friends (and their parents).May she be a melitz yosher for her parents, sister, friends and all of Klal Yisroel.

  5. Ruchama Leeba A”H Was My HERO!!!! She gave me the Chizuk to keep fighting when I was sick and relapsed!!!! May her special, pure and holy Neshama have an Aliyah!!

  6. My daughter who, at times, stay overnight with Chumz in the hospital, was absolutely inconsolable today. THis is such a sad, sad story. The stuff I’m hearing about this pure, precious neshama is amazing. May She be a Mailitza Yeshara for her Choshuve Family and for the army of volunteers that helped her these last few years.
