is this the old man that used to work in the kitchen/dining room some 10-15 years ago? If it was, he was the sweetest man.
BDE
He was also a Rov in Irvington for many years and his wife Ruth was the inventor and authour of the famous Mendel the Mouse in Olomeinu
He was also a talmid chochom who learned in Lublin before the war. A wonderful sweet tzaddik. Yehi zichro boruch.
what a gem of a person , always with a smile
what a great man he was. a real aristocrat. we will miss him tntzbtzh”ch
He also was into Modzitz nigunnim and would sing them with the bachurim who enjoyed them.
Dear Jay,
Although you probably didn’t mean anything wrong, rabbi Finkelstein should not be refered to as the old man…….
Especially after he was niftar……..
WHAT A TZADDIK! HE WAS MEHANA THE TALMIDEI HAYESHIVA FOR MANY MANY YEARS . REB BIYOMIN WILL BE MISSED BY SO MANY PEOPLE.OVER FORTY YEARS AGO HE CARED FOR THE YESHIVA FROM THE BOTTOM OF HIS HEART AND WAS JUST A PLEASURE TO WATCH HIM INTERACT WITH THE OILUM. MEE YITEN LANU TEMUROSO! ZUHL HER HUBEN A LICHTIGIN GAN EIEN.
A geshmake Yid. He will be missed by those who knew him. BD”E
I remember that Rav Binyomin came every morning after davening was over in his shul in Irvington. He would always bring free groceries from Season (I think he was rav hamachshir on behalf of the major kashrus organization). A “git vort” for everyone he met, he was blessed with a smile which lit up your day.
He did not have even shemini shebeshminis, just love of Torah and of all yidden.
Mi Yiten Lanu Temuraso
The Roshei Yeshiva used to be mechabed him to sing by ne’elas hachag. He sang the Modzhitzer B’Tzais Yisroel so beautifully and with such dvaikus.
He did not “work” at BMG. He lived it. Always helping always concerned. What he did could not and was not every replaced.
