Petirah of Mrs. Bella Topas A”H

We regret to inform you of the Petirah of Mrs. Bella Topas (Baila bas Moshe), wife of Holocaust survivor George Topas (YB”L), who was Niftar this afternoon.

Mrs. Topas first came to Lakewood in the 1940’s and met her husband here.

She is survived by her children, Avraham (Henry) and Esther Topas of Montreal, Mahtisyahu and Yehudis Topas of Baltimore, Meyer and Bracha Topas of Lakewood, Reuel and Leah Topas of Toms River, Miriam and Dr. Aaron Cann of Atlanta, as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The Levaya will take place at 6:00 PM Tuesday at the 7th Street Chapel, 613 Ramsey Avenue, Lakewood.

This is what lakewood used to be like all day school kids. Read his plaque in BMG about his family lost in holocost.

I knew George Topas.

He was a proud and tough Jew. Never afraid to stand up for what was right.
