Petirah of Mr. Stanley (Sonny) Bookman Z”L

We regret to inform you of the Petirah of Mr. Sonny Bookman Z”L.

Mr. Bookman was a longtime Lakewood resident, and founder of Bookman’s Meats.

The Levaya is scheduled to take place at 10:30 AM today at the 7th Street Chapel, 613 Ramsey Avenue, Lakewood, with Kevurah in the nearby Bais Olam.

Shiva information will be published one available.

I would see him in a shul in Lakewood learning and saying Tehilim for hours after traveling from Brooklyn to Lakewood where he moved after his first wife passed away after a few years of suffering an illness. A big man.

You are referring to his son, Yankee, who is B”H alive and well. This post is about Yankee’s father, Sonny z”l, who founded Bookman’s meat.

He was a tierer mentch. EHRLICH AND A TREMENDOUS BAAL MIDOS. The Rosh Hayeshiva Hagoan Reb Aron ZT”L trusted him for buying his meat for the yeshiva after the Rosh Hayeshiva tested him. This is what the beauty of Lakewood was in those days. TNTB”H

Does anyone have an update as to where the shiva is? I know Yanky is siting in Brooklyn

Shiva is in Highland Park, where the niftar lived in his later years.
