Baruch Dayan Ha’emes.
I would see him in a shul in Lakewood learning and saying Tehilim for hours after traveling from Brooklyn to Lakewood where he moved after his first wife passed away after a few years of suffering an illness. A big man.
You are referring to his son, Yankee, who is B”H alive and well. This post is about Yankee’s father, Sonny z”l, who founded Bookman’s meat.
Sonny only had one wife, Elli, are you sure you aren’t referring to his son Yanky who should live till 120
He was a tierer mentch. EHRLICH AND A TREMENDOUS BAAL MIDOS. The Rosh Hayeshiva Hagoan Reb Aron ZT”L trusted him for buying his meat for the yeshiva after the Rosh Hayeshiva tested him. This is what the beauty of Lakewood was in those days. TNTB”H

Shiva is in Highland Park, where the niftar lived in his later years.
