Petirah of Harav Hachossid Reb Meir Eliezer Pilchick Z”L

CYMERA_20131110_094042_wmWe regret to inform you of the Ptirah of Harav Hachossid Reb Meir Eliezer b”r Nissen Pilchick z”l. Reb Meir was one of the pillars of the Stoliner community worldwide. Born in 1931 to his parents Reb Nissen and Mrs. Fruma Pilchick, he learned in Yeshiva Tomchai Temimim and later was from the first 5 bachurim to join the new Stoliner Yeshiva, established by the Stoliner Rebbe Reb Yochanan Perlow zy”a.

Reb Meir married Mrs. Henya Schechter and together they built a family in the Derech Yisroel Sava. 12 years ago he married b’zivug sheini his choshuva wife Martha, mother of the Margulies from London. Reb Meir was the longtime Menahel of the Stoliner Yeshiva in Borough Park, as well as the Stoliner Mosdos in Eretz Yisroel, alongside his twin brother, Reb Yisroel Pilchick z”l.

With legendary hachnasas orchim, Reb Meir’s home was always open to guests from Eretz Yisroel. His ahavas yisroel knew no bounds, it is not an exaggeration to say that he literally gave his life away for a fellow yid.

After a lengthy illness, Reb Meir’s neshama parted with us while surrounded by family and close ones, this morning in Maimonides Medical Center.

The levaya will be at the Stoliner Yeshiva, 1818 54th Street in Brooklyn at 1:30 p.m. and will pass the Stoliner Shul on 4609 16th Ave on it’s way to Eretz Yisroel. The aron will be at JFK Airport, Cargo Air building 23 around 4 p.m. Kevurah will be in Tveria.

Reb Meir is survived by hiswife Martha and by his children, R’ Yochanan, R’ Efraim Aaron, R’ Tovia, and the Bald, Wolpin, Binik and Moshel families, as well as hundreds of talmidim.

May he be a meilitz yosher for klal yisroel and continue his work for fellow yidden with his signature chassidisher bren near the kisei hakavod, and hasten the Geulah Shleima bimheira biyameinu. [TLS]
