The hectic Pesach preparations are challenging for every Jewish family, but for families of sick children, who are juggling so much more than the average family, this time of year is especially difficult.
At Misameach, we strive to do whatever we can to ease the burden on these families and inject an extra burst of simcha into the Yom Tov season.
SHABBOS HAGADOL SHABBATON
A special Shabbaton was held for older teens on Shabbos Hagadol with Rabbi Goldwasser and Michoel Pruzansky. The teens enjoyed a beautiful getaway that provided them with an upbeat dose of inspiration and a rare chance to enjoy a relaxing, mini-vacation away from troubles and stress.
FUN AND SMILES AT PUMP IT UP
Misameach held an exciting Pre-Pesach event for children the day of Bedikas Chometz at Pump It Up of Lakewood. As the hectic race to Yom Tov reached its crescendo in every home, parents desperately needing a reprieve were able to drop off their children for an afternoon of fun and take advantage of those precious few hours to continue their Pesach preparations.
CHOL HAMOED WITH MISAMEACH
On Chol Hamoed Pesach, Misameach’s dedicated volunteers were out in full force, performing again and again in homes and hospitals, bringing some much needed company and joy to the ill and the homebound who could not partake in the trips and outings that so many of us take for granted.
Misameach’s Family Center saw nonstop action throughout Chol Hamoed as well, with many, many ill children and their families coming at all hours to enjoy the numerous entertainments and to spend precious, quality family time there.
Once again, Misameach has succeeded in bringing joy and relief to so many families during this beautiful Yom Tov.
