Pedestrian struck, seriously injured in Lakewood

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and seriously injured late Tuesday evening in Lakewood, officials say. 

The accident occurred at the intersection of 5th Street and Private Way shortly before midnight.

The patient, a male, was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center with Hatzolah Paramedics.

Lakewood police are investigating.
