Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Vehicle on Rt. 9 in Howell

The Howell Township Police Department is investigating a fatal motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian.

At approximately 7:50pm on September 10th, a Honda Civic being operated by a Howell Twp. resident was traveling South bound on Route 9 in the area of Strickland Road when the
vehicle struck a Howell resident who was crossing Route 9 South from West to East.

Subsequent to the crash, the pedestrian was transported to Centra State Medical Center for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

The driver of the Honda Civic was uninjured in the crash but taken to an area hospital for evaluation.

This incident remains under investigation by the Howell Township Police Department, Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team.

A lot of people today need cataract surgery and maybe they don’t know they need it or maybe they are planning to get a second opinion or maybe their insurance only covers a small percentage of the surgery or maybe they are afraid to have surgery, or maybe their EKG test does not allow for surgery.
