  1. Does anyone a name for the older girl who was at the site? She also probably could use tefilos!

That intersection is so dangerous for pedestrians. I’ve almost been hit by cars who are rushing to turn after the arrow changes (that doesn’t seem to be what happened here based on the photos). Also for people crossing from Wawa, they often have to wait on the tiny median that barely fits a double citimini and another person. They should switch the light for people making a right at that corner from County to Squankum, towards Kennedy to a red blinking light (which is like a stop sign) so that people can cross west on the south side of the intersection without having to spend a light on that median.

Another problem making the intersection more dangerous for pedestrians is that at least one of the pedestrian signs don’t work (the one on the old 4-corners property for those crossing Squankum- it always has a red hand and there is no signal activation button. The other issue with the signs is that in order to get the pedestrian signal to activate for crossing Squankum one has to push the button. Most people don’t realize this and think the pedestrian signal is broken. Then they try to “wing it”, sometimes entering the street against the light (usually it’s a turning signal for opposing traffic.

I have messaged both public works and the police department via the township website to no avail.

Whishing Pinya Gittel bas Rochel Shaindel a quick and complete refuah. Wishing the older girl the emotional fortitude to get through this with Harchavas Hadas.

May there be no more tzaros in Kal Yisroel with the be’as go’el tzedek!

  2. Pedestrians need to relearn how to cross a street safely & drivers need to relearn about yielding the right of way to a pedestrian crossing a street. Walk carefully and drive safely.

  3. there is no reason to maintain the faint and feeble “olde towne” light posts which made sense when Barney’s was the only establishment at that intersection and today there are high power and low cost lighting options which can really help people see what and who is in that area

  4. First and foremost Hashem should send her a full speedy recovery!
The above mentioned intersection should have a “30 second PEDESTRIAN ONLY” crossing just like they have in Kikar Hashabbos Yerushalyim (Jerusalem) intersection. It should only work if a pedestrian presses the cross button. If there is no pedestrian when the lights change then the cars can drive the way they do now. I strongly believe this idea is a very realistic and fair one for everyone
