Pedestrian, cyclist struck in separate incidents

A pedestrian and cyclist were struck a short time apart in separate incidents in Lakewood today.

A young girl, approximately 10 years old, was struck by a vehicle on James Street around 2 PM. She was transported by Hatzolah to Jersey Shore University Medical Center.

At about 2:30 PM, a cyclist was struck by a vehicle on County Line Road near Princeton Avenue (pictured).

The patient was treated by Hatzolah and EMS, and is being transported to MMCSC by Lakewood EMS.

Drivers and pedestrians are urged to use extra caution during these summer months while children are out.
