We regret to inform you of the passing of Carlos Galarza, a devoted employee of Lakewood’s Department of Public Works. Carlos, 60, died on Wednesday after an illness.
“He was a hard-working selfless man that would help anyone in need,” a friend of Carlos told TLS. “He loved baseball, and his favorite team was the NY Yankees.”
Carlos worked for the Public Works for approximately 10 years.
He leaves behind his wife Luz, five children and four grandchildren.

Carlos didn’t go with the flow. He never cursed or used profanity. He’ll be sorely missed. Unfortunately many Dpw employees use terrible language and talk horribly. God bless Carlos
