Parkway, Turnpike Tolls Go Up Sunday at 12:01 a.m.

If you’re traveling the Garden State Parkway and New Jersey Turnpike after midnight tonight, get ready to pay more.

Back in May, the commissioners of the New Jersey Turnpike Authority have unanimously approved raising toll prices on the Garden State Parkway and New Jersey Turnpike.

Motorists on the Garden State Parkway will see tolls go from $1.50 to $1.90 – a 24% hike – at the main toll plazas, and tolls at off-ramps rising from $0.50-$1.50 to $0.65-$1.90. Drivers on the New Jersey Turnpike will experience a 36% toll hike.

The rise in toll prices is expected to be used to pay for $24 billion in improvement projects.

  1. Way to go Governor knucklehead, tax the people that can least afford it.
Where do we get the money for the toll and gas hikes, YOU put us out of work for 5 months.

  2. As was reported last week the federal government is giving New Jersey millions of dollars for road improvements! So why not also text the citizens of New Jersey to fill all the other policies that Democrats want and blame it on road improvements.
