Packages continue to be left outside UPS box in West Gate

Submitted: “It seems that people are not reading the signs that boxes not inside a UPS box will not be picked up.

People should not assume that out of the goodness of the UPS man’s heart will he take the packages not inside the UPS box. He isn’t and he won’t.

Also, if the box is sticking out of the box it isn’t considered inside.

There are lots of packages, already destroyed, outside of the UPS box in Westgate.

Maybe anyone that dropped off a package within the past few weeks should go check the pile and take back their stuff.

Thank you.”

Note please: Just to understand the logic behind this. UPS drivers’ trucks are full everyday. They allocate room based on their pickup route. They cannot pickup more than they’re truck holds, and they have to complete their route. So if it’s not in the box, they’re most probably not going to ever take it.

I’ll also point out that UPS has been very difficult to deal with on business pickups. If I schedule a pickup and pay for it, the driver will not take a return package unless I schedule and pay for another pickup. My business is in the Park and 4th area. Possibly only this driver as he is always nasty. Can someone advise?

As far as I understand, the divers of UPS (and FedEx etc.) will usually pick up boxes left on top. I have left packages like that a number of times. A UPS rep. told me that it is up to the driver if to pick up boxes left outside (I guess it’s based on what #3 said — that it depends if his truck is full, although I don’t understand that — they should send another truck – it says on the box that it will be picked up). I have left boxes outside, and they got pocked up. I think that UPS etc. should be asked to add drop boxes.

If it doesn’t fit in the box, go to UPS in the Industrial Park and drop it off. They are open 1:00PM to 7:00PM for drop off:

Big deal

I once asked a driver if you can take a package from me he said no… Why should I do more work if I don’t have to.. At least they’re not being paid by our taxes like the garbage truck drivers who won’t pick up the garbage if it’s more than 12″ above the top of the can… I’m guessing New Jersey doesn’t pay enough taxes maybe if they did a Tax hike and the garbage man got paid more they would extend themselves to do the basic minimum of their job…. Or perhaps it’s just plain antisemitism.. I guess only black lives matter.

I don’t think that it is antisemitism.
Maybe the next time that we encounter a UPS worker, maybe we can say to him good morning or good afternoon and thank you so much for all the hard work that you guys are doing in 95 degrees temperature. Don’t forget that the UPS workers are stuck in the same traffic like us and they do not have air conditioning.

Should take package

They should take a package that you hand them – if it already has the label on it, as UPS itself writes on the return label ‘…or hand to any driver’.
And yes, I always try to thank them when receiving a package.

I once tried to hand a UPS man a package and he laughed at me and called me a schmeckle. I chased him down a few blocks but he beat me to his truck. He sped off yelling “ Eat clam poop!” I tried to get his plate but couldn’t. Did anyone have a similar experience?
