Packages being stolen from Lakewood doorsteps

It’s Holiday season, and thieves are on a shopping spree too.

Lakewood residents are reporting to TLS they’ve had packages stolen or ripped open at their doorsteps.

One resident says after multiple incidents, he put up security cameras and never had an issue again.

Here are some tips to avoid having your packages stolen:

1) When ordering, try to arrange a delivery time for when somebody will be home to accept the package.

2) Request that someone be present to sign for the package.

3) When placing an order, keep an eye on tracking information so you know when you can expect delivery.

4) If you know you won’t be home to accept or take in the package, have a neighbor bring it in for you.

5) If ordering from Amazon, set your Amazon delivery notifications to ‘on’ to know when a package has been delivered so you can have someone take it inside for you.
