Overturned Vehicle, Downed Pole Shuts New Hampshire Ave at Border

PHOTOS: A vehicle overturned on New Hampshire Avenue this afternoon, taking out a utility pole in the process.

The single-car accident occurred around 3 PM at the Lakewood Toms River border.

The driver of the vehicle was reportedly able to climb out of the vehicle, and wasn’t seriously injured.

New Hampshire Avenue between Hickory Street and North Maple Avenue is expected to be closed for several hours while utility crews make the necessary repairs, TRPD says. Motorists should use Vermont Avenue or Route 9 as alternate routes for both North and Southbound traffic.

Another wonderful intersection that a light is needed. Instead of people taking them down, we may want to try putting one up!
