Overturned Vehicle Closes Part Of Route 70 – Traffic & Safety Investigating

VIDEO: A serious single-vehicle MVA has closed down part of Route 70. The accident occurred in the West-bound lane of Route 70 near the intersection of New Hampshire Avenue at about 5:50 PM. The one vehicle involved took down a pole before flipping over and landing on its roof.

EMS, Lakewood First Aid and the Lakewood Fire Department responded to the scene and removed the patient which sustained serious injuries.

Route 70 West-bound from New Hampshire Avenue has been shut down.

Moments later, on the opposite side of Route 70, 3-4 more vehicles were involved in an MVA.

LPD’s Traffic & Safety division has responded to the first scene to investigate.

  1. no surprise that there were more mva’s on the other side of rt 70. people dont pay any attention to what they’re doing while driving!

  2. Civilian in black shirt and sweatpants was first on scene and was in the car talking with the pt keeping him calm and awake, when the ambulance arrived she assisted them and had the driver on the way to the hospital within 5 min. Thank god we have EMTs like her

  3. The girl in the black pants and grey sweatpants was first on scene, climbed into the car to talk to the driver and keep him calm. When the ambulance got there she helped get the driver out, stabilized and into the rig within 5 mins, thank go we have civilians like her .
