UPDATED 2:10 PM: Over 500 hundred JCP&L customers are without power this afternoon, according to JCP&L. It’s unknown what caused the outage, and there is no report yet on when power will be restored.
JCP&L says “JCPL is experiencing power outages due to severe weather in our service territory. Crews are working to restore power to all affected areas as quickly as possible. Remember to treat all downed wires as live and dangerous.”
UPDATE 2:10 PM: Power has been restored to most customers.
Which areas is this? Would like to help.
Which areas is this?
My house of Ridge Ave. Near Negba Street is out & I hear that the whole area including all of Negba Street has no power.
Uncle Moe, if there is anything you can do to help my wife and all my neighbors would greatly appreciate it!!
Does anyone think JCPL is in any hurry to restore power in Lakewood since the Township Committee decided not to pay them. I am sure we are probably last on their list.

Why would they decide not to pay them? If the bill is due, it should be paid.

If the meters are not spinning the power company makes no money, so its in their best interest to find and fix issues in a timely manner. It has nothing to do with the street light issue.
Keep building! The power grid is over loaded.
#6 Think about it. If you had 10 customers and one of them was not paying you would you be in a hurry to service them. They do not loose any money if they take care of all their other customers first. Lakewood’s” timely manner” is dead last.
