Quick question… why didn’t the schools have a delayed opening???

The sidewalks and driveways were literally ice skating rinks & it’s a Neis that only 25 people were injured!!

I took my kids to school this morning and while walking from the car to the school entrance them two of them slipped, and while driving out of the parking lot, I skidded a few feet and Chasdei Hashem missed another car by centimeters. Our Dear Roshei Mosdos, we know you have a lot on your head but please put safety number one on the list.

To first 2 posters

Sorry but what time should school have started?9:30? 10? 10:30? Or wait to see when it melts and then open?

They opened reg schedule and didn’t give u a hard time if u came late, that’s what makes the most sense. If u felt it wasn’t safe then go late.

Should all jobs also have started late?

Well…. if the home owners and the town would only put salt then this wouldn’t happen. In NY they put salt even befor the temperature drops to prevent this.

good idea

Yes, generally people salt and sand etc; that’s why it’s only 25 – in a town of over 100,000. And doing before it ices up is a good idea.

Maybe if some people shoveled and salted this wouldn’t happen.
Also the DPW didn’t clear the corners on Clifton. The curbs were packed with snow.

Yeah, putting salt is a good preventive action. Did the victims of these incidents file a lawsuit or something? I just read an article at https://www.lemberglaw.com/slips-and-falls-personal-injury-attorneys-ct-ny-ma/ that talks about this.
